A worthy tea to tide you over until 2022 spring dancongs are here, this xue pian (winter leaf) dancong offers a uniquely sweet experience. With a notable salted caramel flavour and buttery texture, this is one of the recurring dancongs we look forward to the most each year.

    So glad I got this one! I really enjoyed Bitterleaf’s nightingale oolong and I liked the description on this one, so I thought I’d try it. The wet leaves smell so much like salted caramel ice cream it’s crazy! There’s even a hint of cotton candy. The tea itself also has a bit of that salted caramel ice cream smell. It’s a very tasty tea, in my opinion there are notes of flowers and caramel. The texture is really nice too, it definitely has a thick mouthfeel. I brewed it grandpa style, so I’m definitely missing some of the flavors/stuff you get from gongfu but my impression is that this tea is really versatile and would do well brewed any way. This oolong definitely reminds me of ice cream, I love it! I’ll be excited to experiment by brewing it gong fu / in a gaiwan.
