This was my favorite of the teas in the huangpian sampler. Lacking the bite of my second favorite, the Laomane, it checks all of the boxes of an easy-drinking daily sheng. Nice floral aroma, sweet-tart balanced flavor, and steeps out quite well. What more could you ask for at this price point?

This one is really solid. It did not wow me as much as “Keep Smiling”, but even here it’s hard to find any drawbacks. It’s full bodied, smooth and flavourful with a character that’s oscillating between floral and fruity.

Dry leaves smell sweet and metallic, while once wet, there is a distinctive apple aroma as well as a flowery scent. The liquor tastes sweet and juicy with very little bitterness or astringency. There are notes of fermented fruits, apple, banana, and various florals. The profile is not so far from a Taiwanese mountain oolong. The aftertaste is very fragrant and slightly cooling with flavours of sugarcane, straw and rapeseed. One of the highlights is the thick and creamy mouthfeel, it really elevates this tea above the average in the $0.1/g category. I also found the cha qi fairly defocusing and disorienting – this tea may not be the best to drink while working.

such gentle and round tea. nice sweetness, juice and some nuttiness I like. quite thick and a bit creamy. overall a very comforting tea with almost no bitterness or astringency. although the aroma is floral and a bit apple-ish, it is not very pronounced. still, the aroma lingers greatly! I quite like this tea, but it is a bit “too kind” for me while not conveying something special (like the distinct mossy-smokey note of the other huangpian “Don’t be sad”). I really recommend this tea as a cheerful daily drinker though – which is very affordable. 4/5
