Description
This high mountain rougui varietal dancong offers up a sugary sweet fragrance and notes of baked sweets and pastries. The soup is full, with a rounded texture in the mouth.
Although rougui translates to “cinnamon” fragrance, this particular tea is not quite as heavy on the cinnamon quality than our previous rougui offerings. With that said, there is still a somewhat spiced character to it, just not as cinnamon-specific as we would have expected.
This tea still develops nicely from brew to brew, maintaining a pleasant milky quality while unveiling new layers as the session goes on.
Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.
$0.31-0.43/gram
We recommend brewing this tea using Chaozhou style gongfu brewing. Here’s how it’s done:
For something different, you can also try cold brewing:

A great budget dan cong that goes on for many steeps. Features sticky fresh fruit tastes with a pleasantly spicy quality and a good minerality.
I don’t get much of a lingering feeling from this tea but it’s a great one nonetheless with a nice fresh quality to it.

A fragrant tea, sweet and buttery, round and with a good body, certainly different from its Wuyi counterpart, the cinnamon notes are not particularly present here. The wet leaves have notes of ripe fruit and shortcrust pastry on a well-integrated floral bouquet. Creamy body, of medium thickness and with good minerality enlivened by citrus, spicy and slightly balsamic aromas.
