Description
After our original sheng and then shou, Plum Beauty expansion has now moved into black tea territory.
This tea is made from the same “silver” grade old tree material as our original 2017 Plum Beauty sheng and makes for an excellent black tea that is both rich and fragrant.
Unlike most black teas, this one is processed uniquely, undergoing a single roasting that leaves a little bit of room on the top for further oxidization. Our experience drinking this exact tea from previous years is that it can be expected to smooth and fill out over time, making it a suitable candidate for storage of up to 2 years.
As it is right now, this tea has some crisp fuity notes and a unique fragrance, but you can expect it to develop over time. In order to get the most out of it, we recommend reducing your water temperature slightly to 80-85c.

This is a great black tea. It has such a rich, full flavor and is very smooth. It has the earthy notes of a Dian Hong, but some unique notes to it as well.

Great tea – if you´re looking for a tasty dian hong you are at the right place. I really fell in love with the dark forest dian hong – but that´s not an everyday tea. So the plum beauty is a good complement – it´s a solid dian hong and affordable. You really get a lot for yur money here.

Delicious! Wonderfully fruity as the name suggests, but much more than that, as well: malty, nutty, caramel notes, a slight bitterness make this both an immediately satisfying tea and a deeply complex tea. Aroma is fruit-forward with a bit of forest floor notes. Smooth mid-thickness mouthfeel. Can be brewed easily 8+ times and still be strong, with each infusion slightly different from the last.

I got 100g of this beautiful black tea, it has earthy note, nice dry fruit note and thick and rounded and balanced black tea. A little difficult to brew first several times, could not find good timing for brewing.
I used my clay pot for black tea, used 3g for 140ml teapot, and make pot warm by boiling water and once quick rinse by boiling water. After that first brewing 30~40sec by 80~85 degree celcious, after that every each time brew 10~20 sec by 80~85 degree water.
Very round and thick good feeling to touch my throat.

Beautiful roundness on the palate. Taste of gingerbread cookies, hay and cooked fruits. The refinement of orange blossom smell will surely satisfy you. Loving it!
