Description
A special set of Bulang Sheng and Shou teas to celebrate 7 years.
The sheng (sold out): A balanced tea made from ’22 qiaomu/arbor material, consisting of gentle bitterness with a pleasant mineral sweetness.
The shou: Smooth and sweet, like it should be. Plenty of body and a nice date-like sweetness. 2019 material, rested for maximum goodness.

Fine tea, but nothing standing out
//Smell : Very floral, vegetal, citrus zest, sweet, humid hay, wet rock
//Texture: Thick texture that make the back teeth react, cheeks coating, evaporate quickly
//Taste : Creamy hay, herbaceous, astringent, smooth softness, mineral, some kind of mysterious spices
//Body sensation: Dry mouth without saliva, thick cheeks, sleepy eyes, lassitude, quick heartrate

Taste like it’s suppose to.
//Smell : Mushrooms, wet earthy forest trails, alcoholic macerated cherries, wooden shed after the rain
//Texture: Tingling on the tip of the tongue, medium texture, weight underneath the tongue and in the cheeks
//Taste: Fruits compote, mineral, soil trails, mushrooms, leather
//Body sensation: Slow brain, heat in the chest, smiling cheeks, overall joy

So I have both…
Both are very easy to break apart with the fingers. Both are pretty solid “workhorse” teas that are satisfying without requiring your full attention. Both are very forgiving if you’re new to brewing and are worried about “messing up”. Both are very sweet with the sheng being more buttery and the shou veering toward the camphor/medicinal side.

Sheng: this tea was very potent in a rushy, rough kind of way. Settling into some nice apricot/stonefruit aromatics now, better now than when fresh.
