Midnight Wood Fired Gaiwan
- Additional information
This unglazed gaiwan features a beautiful blue gradient finish. This appearance is 100% unique and the result of many hours straight of wood firing.
The results of wood firing teaware is dependent on many factors, including clay composition, firing duration, location and placement in the kiln, shape of the kiln, type/composition of wood being burned, and much more. This teapot was fired for several days, requiring a significant amount of wood to be used as fuel.
This gaiwan holds approximately 115ml of liquid.
While this gaiwan is completely unglazed inside and out, the clay inside seems to be vitrified due to the high firing temperature and long duration. Therefore it does not seem necessary to dedicate to one type of tea.
