- Additional information
Forged in the kilns of Jingdezhen by the same artist as our Matera and Igneous teapots, these little fellas feature a wider shape with a dark, rough surface.
These teapots are unglazed, therefore we recommend designating them for one type of tea. We are often asked what type of tea is suitable for this type of clay, but as this is just a general rough clay from Jingdezhen, the properties and history in terms of tea pairing and interaction with the tea is not as studied as something like Yixing zisha. Therefore we recommend trying with various teas and seeing what suits it best based on your experience.
These teapots hold approximately 105-120ml and have a very fast 5-second pour.
As these pieces are handmade, there may be some variation in appearance from one to another. Due to the large pores in the clay, you may notice marks left behind by even just water. These wash off easily and are completely normal.
