Hand made and hand painted with love by a studio in Jingdezhen, our Good Omen series of teaware brings luck and fortune to your tea table. The pieces in this series incorporate classic Chinese symbols of prosperity and good fortune, along with real gold highlights. Sporadic iron spots in the clay balance out the modern approach with an organic feel.
A classic symbol of longevity and immortality, this peach-rich design includes exactly five bats surrounding the top. This combination yields the blessing of complete fortune and longevity (福寿双全).
Why bats? They have a homophonic pronunciation to “fortune” (fú/蝠/福), with five of them together representing the Five Blessings: Longevity, wealth, health, virtue, and a natural death.
