Buddy Teacup

Description

Although they don’t directly feature an animal, these teacups employ the same glaze as our Buddy teapots and houhin, making them a suitable match. As with the other pieces in this series, these teacups are handmade by a mostly self-taught sculptor in Jingdezhen. Drawing on inspiration from artwork and museums, he translates his love of animals, especially rabbits, into his teaware and ceramics.

Inside his studio is filled with various animal sculptures in all different sizes and textures. Although the style is rustic, each piece manages to uniquely capture the essence of the animal.

Please note that these are entirely hand-formed pieces and may vary slightly from one to another.
