Description
Made by a Taiwanese artist based in Hangzhou, this series manages to strike a balance between being both rough and refined at the same time. It incorporates irregular shapes and real gold to achieve an organic, but intentional look.
While Jingdezhen is regarded central hub for creatives and ceramicists, Hangzhou is also steeped in tea history and an established city for tea culture, making it a natural base for her to establish her studio.
In many cases, artists and studios often specialize in an aspect of the teaware production, whether it’s forming the piece or painting it, this artist involved which each piece from start to finish. This includes mixing the clay, developing the glaze, painting, and firing.
