Description

Equal parts artwork and teaware, these gaiwans are handmade by a mostly self-taught sculptor in Jingdezhen. Drawing on inspiration from artwork and museums, he translates his love of animals, especially rabbits, into his teaware and ceramics.

Inside his studio is filled with various animal sculptures in all different sizes and textures. Although the style is rustic, each piece manages to uniquely captures the essence of the animal.

These pieces are fully functional and should brew tea just as well as any other gaiwan, but please note that these are on the more artistic side. If you require a gaiwan with a tight lid fit and seal, then we recommend having a look at some different pieces.
