Description
Our original plans didn’t include adding a new shou so close to spring, but sometimes teas have other plans for you. This highly enjoyable shou puer managed to do just that, wooing us with its dominant notes of cherry and dark chocolate.
It’s clean and smooth, like a good shou should be, and coming in at a friendly price for any budget, this is a worthwhile addition to any ripe collection.

Tong’ed this tea and have zero regrets :)) I like ripe puerh from Xiaohusai, and this is a great example of ripe done well from that area. Smooth and comforting with enough complexity to keep veteran ripe drinkers fully engaged.

The evaporating nature of tea makes tasting more difficult to pin down—the flavor disappears quickly.
//Smell: Warm cherry and dark chocolate chip cake with sweet, crunchy chocolate icing; big, dark flowers; cooked fruits; cherry-flavored alcohol; fall leaves; an earthy trail surrounded by flowers.
//Texture: Surprisingly thin texture for a puer (I appreciated how it gets thicker after a few brews), back teeth coating.
//Taste: Dark chocolate mousse, wet rock, earth, creamy fudge with nuts on top, cold wind.
//Body Sensation: Refreshing, smiling cheeks, long breaths, serenity, gentle warmth.
