Description
This tea is a great example of Shaihong (sun dried) black tea done right. Notes of caramel, a sugary sweetness, and even a slightly buttery quality make this tea an exceptional daily drinker. Smooth and well rounded, this tea is also low in sourness and astringency, even when hit with boiling water.
The material for this tea comes to us from Nanmo, a small and often overlooked village just slightly east of the more famous Hekai. However, tea from this region shares much in common with neighbors in the Bulang mountain range, with plenty of depth and energy.
$0.16-0.18/gram
Picking Period: March 20-28, 2026

Giving this 5 stars for the value. Pleasant maltiness, florals, and sweetness when brewed with water off-boil in a gaiwan. Reasonably durable. A great breakfast hong.

I really like this Shai Hong. Nice sweetness, a hints of butter cookies, a bit floral. Good as a daily drinker – considering the value.

A nice and balanced black tea, sweet but not too sweet, some buckwheat honey notes and a hint of cinnamon. Makes you feel really comfy and cozy. It’s a great mood booster.
