Description
The black tea companion to our annual raw puer production, this black tea leads with notes of caramel and baked pastry up front, while a honey scent remains in the cup. There is also a slight fruitiness in the fragrance, accompanied by a thick mouthfeel and smooth texture.
This tea uses the old tree material from the same certified organic garden as our raw puer, giving it a layered fragrance and more depth than your average black tea.
While black tea from traditionally puer-dominant areas of Yunnan has become increasingly more common over the years, quality can vary. In the case of this tea, it has been produced for 10+ years using traditional black tea processing techniques that have been carefully dialed in, resulting in a higher level of Dianhong/black tea than what is commonly found.

This is one of the nicest dian hong I had – and it surprised me with it’s sweetness.
Warmed leaves smells like pastry, honey and flowers. The liquor itself tastes like pastry, caramel, muscovado sugar and hints of stone fruits.

This stuff i just so easy to like, but it’s certainly not to say it has no depth, because it does!
I have tried quite a few different Dian Hong now, but this might be my favourite so far, if you are in the mood for some sweetness at least ;).
I’m looking forward to getting another tin of this sweet stuff!
