Year of the Horse 2026 Spring Yiwu Black Tea

Price range: $3.50 through $89.00

Description

Using the same left-to-grow material as our Year of the Horse Yiwu raw puer, this year’s black tea leans into a fruity profile, with berries and brown sugar up front. This is accompanied by the warmth and sweetness you’d expect from a well-processed shaihong. One of the better versions of this tea we’ve done.

Similar to its puer counterpart, this tea demonstrates the difference a good environment and well-tended (or rather untended) land can make in terms of the final product. Pick up the raw puer and white tea versions to compare the same material across different processing styles.

excellent scent, with hints of sundried raisins and other malty, honeyed notes. unfortunately, these delicious fragrances dont transfer into the cup particularly well. the brew itself is still robust and fragrant as expected of a dianhong, but just falls short of what i expected from the scent. would still recommend, especially considering the price point
