Description
This organic Simao green tea uses a tip-heavy grade high in amino acids, producing a clean and pristine feeling in the mouth and noticeable umami quality. The fragrance is crisp, with a slight floral quality and gentle nuttiness to follow it up.
While more renowned green teas are still waiting for buds to appear, this tea takes advantage of Yunnan’s favourable climate and long growing season to give you a taste of the earliest days of spring, at a budget-beating price.
$0.11-0.17/gram
Picking Period: February 26 – March 2, 2026

Smooth and thick mouthfeel, sweet with roasted chestnut finish and a touch of florality. Simple and comforting. It brings up saliva and the itch to sip some more.
It drinks better for me when brewed in a pitcher grandpa style. When I went over 85C with gongfu it started getting bitter.

Refreshing feeling, as if the heat is leaving my body through the pores while I drink.
// Smell: Sweet corn cream soup, salted soy sauce, nori, roasted nuts, steamed asparagus, almonds soaked in tamari, raw onigiri, tender greens, zesty notes.
// Texture: Medium body that sticks to the palate, warm on the teeth.
// Taste: Leftover liquid from a can of corn, wet rock, umami broth, green vegetables, astringency.
// Body sensation: Dry palate with cheeks heavy in saliva, creamy gum coating, calm state, heaviness in the forehead.
