Description
Made from old tree Gui Qing material blended, this 2018 Liubao heicha is processed using traditional double-steaming and double-pressing, with a slightly lighter fermentation.
Full bodied, with notes of wild honey, rye bread, and cocoa, there’s an almost coffee-like quality with a slight pleasant bitterness, backed by a pleasant camphor aroma.
A strong chaqi also stands out, which is both warming and immediate. Although still relatively young by Liubao standards, this tea is a unique pressing with great aging potential at a budget friendly price.

Alexandra Verville-Paris –
With the orange peel note, it feels like a remedy I happily ask another dose of. A pleasant winter tea that brings a spark of positive energy.
// Smell: Earthy chocolate, little Halloween caramel cube, Lambert pine-flavoured cough syrup, Vicks, buttery candy, floral, peppery, wet rock, stuffed Xinhui mandarin.
// Texture: Thick and tingling as it passes through the mouth, then absorbed by the cheeks before disappearing.
// Taste: Medicinal, stuffed Xinhui mandarin, chocolate-covered coffee bean, earthy trail with small rocks, salty dead leaves.
// Body sensation: Thick saliva, dry mouth, cooling effect, quicker heart rate without feeling rushed, alert ears, strong urge to move around (staying still becomes harder as the session goes on).
