Description
Made from high mountain spring material, this 2013 Liubao uses modern cold-water pile fermentation with light fermentation levels. The result is a tea with notable minerality, common of “rock teas”, alongside clean camphor and cocoa notes.
The lightly fermented processing preserves a fresh sweetness and creates salivating effect uncommon in Liu Bao at this age. The mineral quality brings a clean elegance, with floral and herbal notes emerging mid-palate. Good body and durability through multiple infusions.
A high performing tea for the price, with quality material, light fermentation, and time working together to create dynamic experience.

Alexandra Verville-Paris –
If I had a cabin, I like to think it would smell like these leaves. Very refreshing, with a minty, conifer-candy kind of character. Pleasing dark chocolate notes slowly develop over the brews.
// Smell: Wet cold rock, cooked flowers, wheat bran muffin, earthy mushroom cream soup, ripe cooked fruits, winter conifer.
// Texture: Cold tip of the tongue and lips, medium body that gradually expands.
// Taste: Earthy mushroom cream soup, wet rock, root vegetable broth, a humid earth-and-sand mix, cooked red fruits.
// Body sensation: Cold mouth, vanished saliva, sand-like effect on the tongue, calm state, good mood, present-moment awareness, appeasement.
