Description
This 2006 Liubao brick is made from stems and coarser material, otherwise considered the “edge scraps” that typically get screened out when making higher-grade pressings. Similar to Huangpian or Dancong Laochatou, this creates an excellent value tea that doesn’t lack in character.
Made from pre-2005 Gui Qing material and pressed in 2006 using traditional single-steaming methods, this tea delivers herbal notes of licorice root, ginseng, and a slight spicy quality reminiscent of ginger. The woody, medicinal aromatics come with a fine sweetness that’s surprisingly clean for material of this grade.
A straightforward way to get a warm and comforting aged Liu Bao without the aged tea price tag.
