Description
Aofuhou (also known as Tifuhou, Tafuhou, Takuhou, etc depending on the transliteration from local dialect) is a sub-varietal of Songzhong and naturally has a similar fruity and sweet character that we love.
This is one of those teas that starts rewarding you from the moment you open the tin, with strong fruit notes from the dry leaves alone. Once brewed, the notes of fresh berries are even more noticeable, producing a juicy and a sweet liquor.
The fruit-forward character of this tea also makes it very suitable for cold brewing, which produces highly refreshing and flavourful results.
This tea offers a strong value as a mid-range Dancong and serves as a solid benchmark for what this varietal has to offer. Made from quality, high mountain material, the flavour is strong and lasting, with a pleasant mouthfeel and good texture.
Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.
$0.44-0.53/gram

We recommend brewing this tea using Chaozhou style gongfu brewing. Here’s how it’s done:
For something different, you can also try cold brewing:

Alexandra Verville-Paris –
Lovely pink liquor — awh! The dessert side of this tea sets it apart from other fruity dancongs.
// Smell: Fruity and buttery dessert bread, orange blossom, pastry filled with cream, zesty fruitiness in the background
// Texture: Silky, smooth, and thick texture, coating the palate and back teeth
// Taste: Floral crème brûlée, sharpness of raw kiwi, creamy pastry with fruits and butter, mineral
// Body sensation: Dry feeling on the palate, cool sensation in the cheeks, calm, gentle warmth, need for stillness
