3 Cheers 2025 Spring Huangzhi Xiang Dancong Oolong

Price range: $8.00 through $108.00

Description

The term “punches above its weight” gets thrown around a lot these days, but even at the upper end of this year’s standard level dancongs, this Huangzhixiang does just that.

A dynamic varietal by nature, this tea embodies both a floral fragrance and fruity sweetness. The early steeps highlight this fruitiness, while a buttery-lavender quality develops in later steeps.

While this tea is highly enjoyable in terms of fragrance and flavour, the texture is also excellent. Smooth and silky, this tea produces a full feeling in the mouth that is uncommon for its price range.

Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.

A refreshing effect that contrasts with the body’s heat production. A very enjoyable liquor.
// Smell: Intense lemon and mango sorbet aroma, dried outdoor flowers in autumn, lemon meringue, tropical fruit punch, pineapple cake, floral, steamed vegetables
// Texture: Smooth and silky on the tongue, medium body that gradually evaporates
// Taste: Pineapple sharpness, floral cream, wet rock, buttery lavender, mango sorbet
// Body sensation: Dry on the palate yet creamy elsewhere, vanished saliva, quickened heartbeat, noticeable heat, silence, introspection, zen calm

    5g/100ml gaiwan. Boiling water, Flash wash, 30sec, 15sec, 20sec, +10 for 3 additional steeps.

Really enjoying the floral character on this one. Better than other gardenia fragrance I’ve tried in the past. Smooth on the palate, a bit of drying. A bit of tropical fruit comes through (pineapple/passion fruit). Lavender in particular on the floral side. An excellent Dancong for the price. Only had a sample and plan to buy a tin now.
