Description
Aofuhou (also known as Tifuhou, Tafuhou, and a few other transliterations from the local dialect) is a sub-varietal of Songzhong. Typically this is where we would highlight the varietal’s natural berry-like fruity qualities, however this year’s tea is a bit different.
If we were to drink this tea blind, we likely wouldn’t recognize it as Aofuhou, however, it still made the cut as a top shelf dancong this year, thanks to a full, creamy quality with a salted butter note that lingers well after each sip.
Some florals appear, as well as a sweet potato fragrance that can be characteristic for this varietal. For us, the texture and creamy quality is the star, making for an engaging tea that delivers an unexpected surprise.
On top of all that, this tea comes from a clean environment with organic certification to China, US, and EU standards.
