Description
This Rougui (cinnamon fragrance) dancong brings the spice notes you’d expect from this varietal without leaning too hard into any one thing. It’s sweet, but not overly so, and carried by a nice texture in the mouth.
A slight cocoa powder quality sets this year’s version apart, rounding out the spice and sweetness. This kind of detail keeps the tea interesting, evolving from brew to brew. There’s a pleasant cooling sensation that lingers well after taking a sip.
A well-balanced, warming dancong that does what a good Rougui should without overthinking things.
Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.
$0.36-0.43/gram
Varietal: Rougui Xiang/肉桂香/Cinnamon Fragrance

We recommend brewing this tea using Chaozhou style gongfu brewing. Here’s how it’s done:
For something different, you can also try cold brewing:

Very nice dancong–great spiciness, and excellent holding power over many steeps. The fragrance doesn’t have the magic of “Duck Yeah” from this year’s Top Shelf lineup, but this is wonderful all the same.
