Description
Made from high altitude, old bush material from the origin region of Ping Kang Tou (坪抗头), home of the mother tree, this is our premium Yashi Xiang (aka “Duckshit Fragrance”) and one we’ve come back to for close to a decade now. It’s proven itself to be a consistently great tea, year after year.
A classic yashi fragrance shows up from the start, floral and unmistakable, along with a milky/creamy quality that comes with higher end Dancong. Traditional charcoal roasting gives it a smooth texture that rolls in the mouth, along with a fantastic aftertaste. We highly recommend comparing this against our Easy Breezy Yashi to experience the added depth, thicker mouthfeel, and milkiness that higher quality material brings to the table.
If this is your first time coming across “Duckshit Fragrance,” rest assured it’s just a name. The story goes that the owner of the original bushes made it up to throw off would-be thieves, claiming ducks relieved themselves around the plants and the tea was no good. It clearly didn’t work, since Yashi Xiang remains one of the most popular Dancong varietals to this day.
Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.
$0.82-0.93/gram

We recommend brewing this tea using Chaozhou style gongfu brewing. Here’s how it’s done:
