Easy Breezy 2026 Spring Yashi Xiang Dancong Oolong

Price range: $5.50 through $68.00

Description

Our annual budget-friendly Yashixiang (lit. “Duck Shit fragrance”) dancong is back, and it does exactly what makes this varietal so loved. The crisp honeysuckle fragrance (金银花) makes itself known right off the bat and lingers, showing off the distinct floral quality Yashixiang is known for.

That fragrance is backed by a sugary sweetness and a balanced, easy-drinking flavour that sits nicely in the mouth. Yashixiang covers a wide quality range given how common the varietal is, and this one serves as a strong representative. It’s also been remarkably consistent from year to year, so if you’ve enjoyed it in previous seasons, you know what you’re getting.

As always, we recommend brewing this side by side with its high mountain counterpart to experience the differences in mouthfeel and texture.

Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin.

The classic! I love it for what it is. It fulfills what’s expected of it—no more, but no less either.

// Smell: So floral—grilled fruits on the BBQ, strawberry-stem infusion, sweetness, tropical-fruit pastry, clean clothes, “Spring”-scented dish soap.
// Texture: Creamy (straight to the palate), mineral heaviness, tingling on the lips, evaporation.
// Taste: Roasted fruits and creamy cake sauce, wet rock, cut flowers in the kitchen, the sharpness of pineapple, buttery shortbread.
// Body sensation: Rough and dry tongue, heavy cheeks, cold effect, warm heartbeat, tingling in the fingers, serenity.
