Description
Grown right here in Yunnan, this tea uses Taiwanese small leaf, soft stem varietal trees (台湾小叶种乌龙软枝) for the material. The result is an incredibly affordable and unique oolong compared to anything else we’ve come across in Yunnan.
This tea’s character shares a lot in common with our always popular Chocolate Flower Peach, due to it being processed as a “red oolong”, which involves a relatively higher level of oxidization. Although it treads close to black tea territory, it still retains the qualities of an oolong in terms of processing and character, with a heavier emphasis on florals. That shouldn’t be a surprise based on the name though.
The aftertaste and cup scent leave behind a caramel sweetness and notes of baked goods.
This tea handily outperforms its budget and is a must try for anyone who enjoys “wild” dianhongs or Taiwanese oolongs.

Very black tea like in appearance of leaves, color of liquor and much of the taste but unmistakably smells like a red oolong to me. Doesn’t smell entirely unlike a bug-bitten oolong, but not
as perfumey and aromatic. Tastes like a red oolong pushed to almost be a black tea. Thick, sweet floral. The very slight bitterness it has is like the type of bitterness a black tea has. A bit malty like a black tea, “spiced”-
like flavor, I get nutmeg. Giving it 5 stars for the value because it’s kindof like an alternative version of the Chocolate Flower Peach and that costs more.

The smell of the empty cup is like a sweet dark chocolate pastry—calm and delicious. A surreal, offbeat body experience, as if in the Matrix; it fades like a dream.
//Smell: Wait! What? Black tea? Am I drinking the right thing? Pastry, dark chocolate, floral, dried tomatoes, raisin bread, tartness, tomato pie.
//Texture: Hot spot on the tip of the tongue, gentle wave of tea that spreads out in the mouth, medium texture, spiciness, cheeks coating.
//Taste: Tomatoes and onion pie in a sweet shortcrust pastry, diluted fruit punch, potpourri, bruschetta, croutons with herbs.
//Body Sensation: Visual glitches, strong heart rate, heat, meditative mood, inner joy.
