Description
This Puer-grown oolong-hong falls into a unique category. Neither a typical black tea, nor oolong, it straddles both categories, with the warm, roasted quality of a black tea, along with the layered flavour and fragrance of an oolong.
Made from Taiwanese small leaf, soft stem varietal (台湾小叶种乌龙软枝) material grown here in Yunnan, this tea offers a dynamic experiencing, with both fruity and floral qualities, as well a hint of cinnamon.
Compared to our similarly processed and equally unique Flowerbomb, this tea covers a bit more range, leaning towards notes of spice and some fruitiness.

This is much closer to a black tea, especially Taiwanese black teas and somewhat reminiscent of Darjeeling second flushes, than most oolongs in terms of flavor. Sweet muscat-like complex flavor. Minimal bitterness. Soft finish. Not a particularly thick mouthfeel. Delicious daily drinker at a great price point.

The wet leaves really look like black tea! It lacks a bit of intensity; I haven’t quite found the right parameters to get the most out of these leaves.
